Frequently asked questions

How long can respite care last?
As long as you need. Respite care can be a few hours while you run errands, a full day, an overnight stay, or even several days if you are traveling. We work with your schedule and your loved one's needs.
Will the respite caregiver know my loved one's routine?
Yes. Before the first visit, we go through your loved one's daily routine, preferences, medications, and anything else the caregiver needs to know. Consistency matters, and we make sure the transition is smooth.
Can I use respite care on a regular schedule?
Absolutely. Many families schedule weekly or biweekly respite care so the primary caregiver has predictable time off. Regular scheduling also helps your loved one build a relationship with the respite caregiver.
Is respite care available in-home and out-of-home?
We Care Home Health MN provides both in-home and out-of-home respite care. In-home means the caregiver comes to you. Out-of-home respite takes place at an approved community setting. Most families prefer in-home because it is less disruptive.
